Katie Harvey (b. 1991) is an Australian painter. Her paintings draw on the capacity of light, colour and atmosphere to render the visible unstable. Working predominantly in oil, Harvey makes and unmakes forms, allowing the visible to remain open rather than fixed.
Harvey's paintings develop through an open process in which invention emerges through the act of painting. For Harvey, painting is a process of thinking through which each work discovers its own resolution.
She completed a Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours) at RMIT University in Melbourne, and studied abroad at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago before completing a Master of Therapeutic Arts Practice at MIECAT Institute in Melbourne. She has exhibited nationally, was awarded a Regional Arts NSW Quick Response Grant in 2024, and was a finalist in the 2026 Muswellbrook Art Prize. Harvey lives and works on Kamilaroi Country in Tamworth, New South Wales.
